Background
Sarah Michelle Gellar began acting at a young age. Born in New York City, at the age of 4 she was discovered by a talent scout and began acting in movies and TV commercials soon after.

Sarah's fist big break came as she landed the role as Buffy Summers in the show Buffy the vampire slayer. Written by Joss Whedon Buffy would become a global hit and span seven seasons. Whilst filming Buffy Sarah also starred in several films often as characters unlike her vampire slaying character. Films such as Cruel Intentions, I know what you did last Summer, Harvard man and Scooby doo 1 and 2 helped maintain Sarah's strong acting career and enable her to reach fame on a global scale.

Alongside this acting career Sarah has also appeared in various magazines and newspapers as well as taking part in many tv interviews. She has performed special features on shows such as TRL's saturday night live and has hosted both the American MTV Movie awards and Europe's MTV music awards. In advertisements Sarah has been the face of Maybelline, starring in several commercials for the popular cosmetic brand.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer
A show which is renowned amongst many, Buffy the vampire slayer was set in the Californian town of Sunnydale which was built on top of a hell mouth. This led to a mass of strange occurrences and a whole host of demons and vampires which attacked the residents of Sunnydale. It fell upon the slayer, a human with extraordinary strength and fighting prowess, to defend people against the horrors that came forth from hell. Buffy is this slayer and with help from her friends, a mixture of humans and good demons and vampires, she has to defend Sunnydale from the monsters of hell.

Hollywood
Over the last few years Sarah has starred in many major hollywood films which have proved popular with critics and cinema go 'ers alike.

The first major film that Sarah was involved in, Cruel intentions, saw her acting alongside Ryan Phillippe and Reese Witherspoon. Sarah's character was a sly high class woman who manipulated many but eventual receiving her comeuppance after going to far with her scheming.

Scooby Doo saw Sarah filling the boots of Daphne who is an integral part of the scooby gang. As with the original scooby cartoons the films saw the gang tackle a inexplicable crime by a combination of coincidences and detective work, eventually getting to unmask the villain behind the events.

The grudge is a dark horror film and Sarah plays the lead, Karen Davis, in the American remake which was released in 2004. In the film a house is played by a curse which effects anyone who enters it. Karen is unfortunate to be plague by this curse though it seems she manages to survive it after a shocking encounter and numerous attempts at escape.

The future
Sarah acting career is still thriving. She is currently working on several big movie projects which are due for release in the next few years. Southland tales sees Sarah in a musical comedy, an untitled supernatural and Mark Klien project are also on the cards.
